Flight Deal: Virgin America (Honolulu to San Francisco or Los Angeles)

 virign america

A friend of mine alerted me today that Virgin America, who recently launched services from the West Coast to Hawaii, has a great fare sale between Honolulu-Los Angeles and Honolulu-San Francisco. She just booked a roundtrip ticket for $340 HNL-SFO. That’s an awesome deal!

I know I promote miles and points to fly for almost free, but sometimes it’s not a bad idea to pay for flights if there’s a great deal. As of this post, Virgin America still has flights available at $169 one-way. This is a great deal to the West Coast.

What’s the Offer?

Flights between Hawaii and San Francisco or Los Angeles are available for $169 one-way from now until May 2016.

Let’s take a look at Virgin’s monthly calendar for HNL-SFO to see what’s available at this moment. A quick check shows more availability in San Francisco.

Is this a Good Deal?

Absolutely. I would pay cash instead of using miles to the West Coast.

If you decide to fly with Virgin America, don’t forget to sign up for their frequent flyer program, Elevate. You can use miles earned with Virgin on Virgin Atlantic or Hawaiian Airlines. They also partner with Virgin Australia, Emirates and Singapore Airlines.

The Final Word…

Seats are going fast, so book soon. I’ve never flown on Virgin America, so I’m inclined to try their service for a quick weekend trip to SFO. I better take my advice and book quickly because I’m sure the lowest fares will be gone in no time.
