Earn Miles without Flying: Shopping Portals

shopping portals

A large percentage of the miles I have earned have come from online shopping. I make the effort to purchase as much as I can online, such as appliances, clothes, office/school supplies, makeup, and more. I do enjoy shopping in stores and window shopping, but before I purchase in a store I always check online to see if the item can be bought for the same price or cheaper with free shipping or store pickup and easy exchange.

The picture above shows the three main portals that I use on a consistent basis. As you can see, I earned a lot of points in 2014 through the Delta Skymiles shopping portal. My goal was to book a Round The World award ticket for 180,000 miles, so I got close just by shopping for items that I was planning to purchase anyway.

WARNING: Do not purchase items just to earn miles. Use it to purchase your necessities or something you’ve been meaning to buy. If you go out of your way to purchase things you don’t need, you’ll end up with a huge bill of unnecessary items. And you should always pay your bill in full as the fees you pay usually negate the value of points you earn.

How Does This Work?

Shopping through a portal is really easy. First, you need to be a frequent flyer member to earn miles in your respective programs. If you’re not, sign up for Delta Skymiles, United MilagePlus, AA Advantage, and others.

  • Before you shop online, go to the shopping portal you want to earn miles from and log in.
  • Search for the store you want to shop at and click on the link.
  • Once at the store, go shopping. Add items to your cart and checkout.

To avail this offer all you have to do is visit these online stores just by sitting at your home and spend the confident, vigorous and juicy life with your partner. cialis generic 10mg amerikabulteni.com They’d first met during one of Jackson’s family engagements in 1975 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, viagra shipping and were reconnected through a common friend in early 1993. That’s it! It’s just one extra step. Instead of going straight to Sears.com, go to the portal first then click on Sears. The portal links your frequent flyer number to the order and once the store confirms shipment with the portal, your miles are credited to your account within 2-4 weeks.

What Shopping Portals Are Available?

Depending on your travel goals, you can earn miles from various shopping portals. I focused on Delta in 2014, but this year have mainly earned miles from United and American Airlines.

Here is a list of the various shopping portals:

Going through each site to find the best deal for a store can be time consuming. For example, Sears will earn 4x miles at Delta, but AA may be running a promotion at 6x points. A site that can help tell you the latest promotions, but is not always up-to-date, is called EVReward.

Tips To Keep In Mind

    • You can use any credit card to make a purchase. It doesn’t need to be affiliated with the frequent flyer program. The exception is going through a bank e-shopping portal like Chase Ultimate Rewards.
    • Do not log out or click on external links that take you away from the site. The portal is connected through that direct link and cannot be closed. If you close the page or stray from the site, go back to the portal and re-enter the online store.
    • Some people have reported that using coupons not listed on the portal or filling your cart beforehand have delayed or disqualified earning miles.
    • Generally, gift card purchases don’t count towards earning miles. I have, however, been able to use gift cards to purchase items and those miles posted to my account.
    • If you return an item, the miles earned for that item will be deducted from your frequent flyer miles account.

The Final Word…

I love shopping online and earning miles while doing it. I don’t suggest buying random things, but I’ve bought a washer/dryer at Sears and Best Buy when there were 3x and 6x promotions to earn more miles. In addition, there are summer and winter bonus campaigns that earn an extra 500-6,000 miles on top of the miles earned for each specific store. If you plan your shopping right, you can earn a lot of points online.

Wow. That’s a lot of miles by shopping. How can you earn that much for regular spending? BTW I like your blog. I started the shopping portal but its not a lot of miles like you.

Great that you’re starting with shopping portals. I know starting out at first the miles may not seem like a lot. I’ll go through a few examples soon on how I earned a large chunk of miles by shopping. Thanks for visiting my blog.
